Executive Director

Laura McKernan

Laura is a seasoned bilingual multicultural international lawyer who joined The Justice Center in 2022. She holds three law degrees: Bachelor of Laws from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), Master of Laws in Corporate Law from the Technical University of Central America (UNITEC), and Master of Laws with a focus on International Law from Georgetown University Law Center (GULC). Laura stated, “I am thrilled to be serving Colorado residents by using my skills and experience to help those that find themselves living through difficult legal situations and need highly skilled advice and representation.”

Kristina Root

Program Manager

Kristina is a well versed paralegal with years of experience in family law who joined The Justice Center in 2023. She holds a BA in History and a Paralegal certification. Kristina expressed: “I am excited to work with a team dedicated to helping those most in need of legal aid.”

Paralegal

Casey Freeman

Casey is a multi-field paralegal who joined The Justice Center in 2023. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Legal Studies. Casey wants her community to know “it is a privilege to be in a position where I am able to use my expertise for the benefit of my neighbors.”
